Manu Ginobili was preparing to retire after this past season after losing to Golden State in the NBA Western Conference Finals but Manu has decided to cancel his retirement plans and will return for one more season and play his 16th season with the San Antonio Spurs.
The soon-to-be 40 year old had one of his best outings in 3-4 years against Golden State this past playoffs, on 2 separate occasions which got him to come back this season because he has been very healthy this past season.
Manu Ginobili , one of the alltime best international players, who is known for the euro step, and his ability to dunk with the left hand, is a 4 time NBA Champion, 2 time Allstar.
He is also known as one of the best bench players ever, and has played for the same team for 15 straight years.
Despite him being 40 years old, he isn’t afraid to take the big shot or come up with a big play which he did in game 5 in the Conference Semifinals versus the Rockets when he blocked the game winning attempt by James Harden in Overtime.
The San Antonio Spurs are also working on getting a deal done to bring back International Big man C Paul Gasol after he declined the player option this past offseason.
With the addition of SF Rudy Gay, the Spurs have a chance to contend with the Warriors and possible a 4th Finals rematch against Lebron & the Cavs.
