Andrei Markov wanted to finish his career as a member of the Habs but it couldn’t happen because the Canadiens and Markov doesn’t agreed on the terms the Hans offered.
Markov was looking for a one-year deal worth 9-12 Million a year.
The 38 year old defence man was drafted in the 1998 draft in the sixth round and has been with Montreal since 2001.
He is ranked 6th all time in games played for the Habs franchise with 990.
He is interested to play in in the KHL which will make him eligible to play in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea for Team Russia.
