The Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators, and Nashville Predators have reportedly agreed to a 3-Team trade that will send forward Matt Duchene to the Senators, forward Kyle Turris to Nashville, and Ottawa’s 1st and 3rd round draft picks along with Nashville’s 2nd round draft pick to Colorado. The Avalanche have also received prospects Samuel Girard, Vladislav Kamenev, and Shane Bowers along with goaltender Andrew Hammond from Ottawa.
Duchene has been a speculated trade candidate for the better part of 2 seasons now, and trade rumors have constantly swirled around the star forward. Colorado waited out to find the best offer they could get for him, and they have now found it in this deal with the Senators and Predators.
Ottawa has long had interest in Duchene and in fact almost completed a deal with these same two teams a few days ago before talks broke down. Those talks obviously picked back up with the result of this deal being completed.
Meanwhile, the Predators receive a solid center in Turris, who they have agreed to a 6-year extension with already.
